What is a Capacity campaign?
God is moving in our church here in Katy! We are experiencing growth in attendance, new members, baptisms, campus involvement, and program ministry. As we move forward, there are key areas of focus to be met for our growing church. The purpose of this campaign is to strengthen the long-term ministry, outreach, and operational effectiveness of our church by identifying strategic areas for growth, improvement, and sustainability. This includes physical infrastructure, staff expansion, leadership development, community impact, and digital/technological readiness.
We are launching this campaign to strengthen the heart of our ministry and expand our ability to connect, serve, and grow. With your support, here is what we plan to accomplish through the Capacity Campaign in 2026 and 2027:
- SANCUTARY LIGHTING AND A/V Upgraded Lighting, Sound System, Livestreaming, and Hearing Assistance to enable our worship service to be more accessible for all people and to address needed upgrades to one of our most important gathering spaces.
- COMMUNICATIONS POSITION A dedicated communications position means our message of hope and love reaches more families in Katy and beyond.
- DEDICATED CHILDREN’S SPACE Investing in dedicated space for our children’s Sunday School, 345, and Katy First Kids means we are better equipped to impact the next generation with God’s message of love and grace.
- ACCESSIBLE RESTROOM A gender neutral accessible restroom near our Sanctuary for persons with disability or families with young children ensures a needed space of accessibility.
- TRUSTEES RESERVE REPLINISHMENT The Trustees reserve of $50K was depleted to replace our Sanctuary HVAC in the fall of 2025. The replenishment of this fund ensures a strong, sustainable church for the future.
With your support, we can address these needs and continue to expand our growing capacity. Your gift expands our capacity to serve more, reach more, and grow more. Every gift, large or small, helps our church thrive — not just on Sundays, but every day of the week.

The Permanent Endowment Fund of Katy First United Methodist Church provides a unique opportunity to create a permanent legacy of ministry for future generations.

Everything in life is built upon a foundation that others have provided. Giving to the Permanent Endowment is a way you can extend the legacy of faith we have received since 1898. Your contributions to the endowment will continue this tradition of generosity for future generations.

How are Endowment gifts different from other church donations?
Gifts to the Endowment Fund create a continuous stream of income for the church beyond one’s lifetime. The
endowment principle is permanent and only the earned interest income can be distributed.
Are Permanent Endowment fund gifts tax deductible?
Yes. Your gifts to the Katy First Endowment Fund are deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes. Bequests, Life Income Gifts and other Donations of Value are generally exempt from Federal Estate and Gift taxes.
Who administers the fund?
The Endowment Fund is administered by the Endowment Fund Committee at the direction of the Church Conference. The Committee will oversee all investments of this fund and recommend when and how distributions will be made.
